Re-Embed

Re-Embed is an Adaptive Reuse design of a recreation center in on an existing parking structure located in Lower Manhattan. This Project explores programmatically hybridized typologies of leisure and wellness as a civic service building. Designing through section, articulation of vertical circulation and structure, interior spatial voids, and detailed facade design.

Structure Worms-Eye Axonometric

Adaptive reuse strategies included maintaining as much original structure. Removed slabs and columns from light well cutouts, concrete reused for 3D printed concrete slab of 7th story and shell of facade. Light wells cut through multiple floors allowing natural light to penetrate through dense floors.
